Requirements

The process of becoming a volleyball official involves training, practice, certification, and equipment. To become a member of GCVOA, all officials must complete the following requirements:

  • Attend GCVOA Training
  • Pay annual GCVOA dues $40 for new members and $35 for returning members.
  • Register with OSSAA and pay annual dues ($62 annual fee for first sport officiated, required for State Certification)
  • Pass the NFHS open book test (required for State Certification)
  • Carry the required equipment.

  • Black slacks (warm-ups, sweats, jeans, and wind pants are not acceptable)
  • Black belt (if belted slacks are worn)
  • Black court shoes
  • Black socks
  • Flags (optional)
